My favorite frienemy, from SF's most popular blog, was at this party I "made an appearance at" the other night. When we first met he was totally rude and I may have drunkenly told him I hated him. I was just lashing out. Jeremy and his ever-present camera actually took some decent photos this time. As I told him, "for once he didn't make me look like a freaky raver". We extended the proverbial olive branch, and took this picture together.

Quiz for U

I love quizzes! When I was a kid, Gish and I would bake homemade chocolate chip cookies and do the quiz in Teen magazine together every month. How to Tell if He is Into You? (He wasn't). Are You a Flirt? (I wasn't). What's Your Style? (ummmm...).

Jessica sent me this color quiz to take the other day (www.colorquiz.com) so I took it and the results were soooooooo wrong! OMG I have never seen such poor results from a quiz. Even the Jr. high quizzes were more accurate. You should take it and tell me if it made you feel as bad as me.

(On a side note, I was surfing the web and looking at other quizzes and they were SO funny here are a few of the ones I liked the best: Could You Date a Sexy Vampire?, Are You Ugly or Pretty?, and How Blood Obsessed Are You? Haha sooooo good!

P.S: You should watch Myles' new video cause it made me feel better about myself.When I am down I can just tell myself "At least I'm not really into Vanessa Williams. Life could be worse."

I once had good taste...

Usually on my drive to and from school I listen to NPR and catch up on my election 2008 news. Today, lucky me, I didn't have to be at school today until 10:30am instead of my usual 8:00am start time. So I got in the car and some really depressing, quite, boring, music was coming out of the speaker. I quickly found out that this was KCRW's morning programming called "Morning Becomes Eclectic". Now, since I just moved to LA I am not totally familiar with the history of this program or it's popularity, but on my first real introduction to it I was really BORED! Maybe I am just bored in general, but it made me realize that I am kind of in a musical slump/rut/somethingoranother. Since my ipod got lost/stolen (yet to be determined), I have not had the luxury to listen to music in the car and when I am at home I have been listening to records mostly but one of my speakers broke so that sucks. Also, I don't have speakers for my computer yet so my itunes must be played directly from my laptop and I don't have a CD player so I play CD's out of the TV. Ummmm...I am not trying to sound pathetic, but I totally need help. I need some new music to get me excited and motivated to get a new ipod, fix my speaker, and start jammin out. Any suggestions, ideas, mix CD's/tapes, or encouragement would be greatly appreciated and repaid at some point.

Thanks for your help you guys. Does anyone else feel like this? I came home today and put on the same record I have been listening to for the past 2 weeks. It has to stop somewhere!!! HELP!

Fatal Attraction!

Why is it that somehow it happens that we find ourselves inexplicably drawn to that which we can't have or makes us feel bad. I feel like I hear it all the time. Friends who are in love with someone who treats them badly or is involved with someone else. My journey down this road began last spring in San Francisco. My friend Michelle had called me up and asked me to meet her at Yerba Buena Gardens for lunch. Always eager to get the hell out of my jail cell of an office and gossip with Michelle about her internet sexy chats and ex-boyfriend drama I gladly accepted. I scooted out of my office and popped into Harvest Urban Market to pick up something yummy. Sadly, the cutie that worked there had quit by this point so my visit was strictly food-oriented. Anyways, I get to Harvest and decide upon a caprese sandwich and feeling summery i ventured into the fruit section. I landed upon a basket of plump, ripe, and delicious looking figs. Figs are seriously the most forgotten about fruit and I don't understand why. They are sweet, juicy, and have a great texture. I bought my figs and my sandwich and walked down to the park to "chow down". Over the course of an hour I recieved an extensive sexual education (as always) from Michelle and ate the entire basket of delicious figs. Next thing I know my mouth was feeling all itchy and bumpy and my throat was closing up. Fuck! What was going on? I went back to work and kind of blew it off and my mouth felt really funny for a couple more days.

Later in the week I indulged once again in some fresh figs. You guessed it: bumpy mouth, itchy throat, blah blah blah. Basically what I am getting at is I think I am allergic to figs. NO!!!! I couldn't really handle this at this point in my life so I chose to ignore it. I kind of avoided figs for a while but it has been so hard. Tuesday I decided to test the waters and I bought organic fig newtons from Whole Foods. I couldn't resist...OMG they looked SO good. I got four of the cookies down before I even turned off of Fairfax and it started happening again. This time the top of my mouth was super swollen. I ignored it again and packed my lunch for the next day including a nice ziploc bag full of the sweet treats. Needless to say those little figgys had no mercy on me and I am paying for it now. It's Friday and my mouth STILL hurts. WTF!! I can't handle it and the worst part is all I want to eat is figs!!!! I am CRAVING them...bad! I had to give Adelaide the rest of the cookies and make her take them away from me.

I just don't understand why I am so attracted to something that does nothing but bring me pain and sorrow. It's like a bad relationship...I keep going back for more. Umm...DUH Alisha you know how this is going to end. Get over it. Kick it to the curb. But I just can't give up that easily.
